Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 June 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using themotorguild.com ("the platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Membership

TheMotorGuild is a curated, invitation-based network for verified automotive professionals across the GCC. Membership is granted at our sole discretion and may be suspended or revoked for breach of these terms, misrepresentation, or conduct inconsistent with the community standards.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate professional information and update it when it changes.

4. Acceptable use

  • No unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or misleading content.
  • No scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorised commercial exploitation of member data.
  • No spam, mass solicitation, or off-platform poaching of members or candidates.
  • Respect other members' confidentiality — discussions inside the network stay inside the network.

5. Content

You retain ownership of content you publish and grant TheMotorGuild a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute it within the platform for the purpose of operating the service. You are responsible for the legality and accuracy of what you post.

6. Paid services

Some features (advertising, premium tools, consulting workflows) are paid. Pricing, billing terms, VAT treatment and refund policy are presented at the point of purchase and form part of these terms.

7. Third-party services

The platform integrates with third-party services (authentication, payments, analytics, AI providers). Your use of those features is also subject to their respective terms.

8. Disclaimer

The platform is provided "as is". Content posted by members reflects their views and is not endorsed by TheMotorGuild. We do not guarantee specific business outcomes from using the network.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheMotorGuild is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

10. Account Closure & Deletion

You may close your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. To protect your account from accidental or malicious deletion, the following process applies.

Initiation

You must re-authenticate with your password or OAuth provider and type DELETE exactly to confirm. If you have active obligations — such as unpaid invoices, open job postings, active advertising campaigns, or unresolved consulting engagements — deletion will be blocked until those are resolved.

Grace period

Once confirmed, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this time:

  • Your profile is hidden from all public-facing areas of the platform.
  • You are signed out and cannot log back in.
  • You may cancel the deletion at any time by following the cancellation link sent to your email.
  • We send reminder emails at T-7 and T-1 days before the scheduled purge.

What happens after 30 days (purge)

At the end of the grace period, we permanently anonymise your personal data: your name is replaced with "Former member" across all profile and community content; your photo, email address, and phone number are removed; your authentication identity is disabled and unlinked; and your profile status is set to suspended.

Deleted vs anonymised vs retained

Deleted: profile photos, contact details, private profile fields, social links, push subscriptions, and device tokens.

Anonymised: your historical community posts, comments, forum threads, and direct messages remain visible but are attributed to "Former member".

Legally retained: payment and invoice records, consulting engagement histories, and platform audit logs are preserved for UAE commercial law and tax compliance (7 years), with your user ID replaced by the anonymised label "Former member".

We may also suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or to protect the integrity of the community.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the UAE, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
